RENAULT will launch a range of all-electric trucks in 2019, primarily designed for use in urban and inter-city situations. They will be produced at the Renault Trucks plant at Blainville-sur-Orne in Normandy, France.

Electromobility is fundamental to Renault Trucks’ strategy for sustainable urban transport. The manufacturer has been investing heavily in research since 2009, focusing on extensive field testing in partnership with its customers.

Tests on various types of experimental full electric 12-16 tonne trucks have provided Renault with information on conditions of use, battery behaviour, recharging facilities and specific maintenance requirements for electric trucks, confirms the truck builder.
