Dumfries and Galloway based, TP Niven is one of Scotland’s longest established haulage contractors. Founded 92 years ago, the company is still family owned and operated, using depots in Dalbeattie, Lockerbie and Somerset to complement its headquarters in the village of Palnackie.

TP NIVEN was founded in 1926 by Thomas Paisley Niven, who used his life savings to purchase a petrol lorry during the general strike of that year, and now third generation Jim Niven steers the company, which has gradually expanded from being a local and regional contractor to a nationwide, high profile, UK operator.

The company combines a long established and industry leading presence in bulk milk transport alongside general haulage, with warehousing and storage services complemented by a membership of the Palletline network.

During the last five years, TP Niven has increased its fleet numbers from 30 to 84 vehicles, through equal numbers of new and used truck purchases.
