SUCH WAS the success of the first charity truck show held in Carlisle in 2016 that everyone assumed it would be an annual event. However it was not repeated the following year, but the decision was taken by Will Pringle and his team to stage another one this year, writes Ian Lawson.

It was clear from early this year that there was a great appetite for it with not only a lot of drivers and companies pledging their support on the weekend of 21/22 July, but also the organisers received a good deal of sponsorship money and items for auctioning.

I made a late decision to attend and was impressed with the standard of turnout and professionalism of the organising team. Virtually all the available space at the Borderway Livestock Market premises was taken up by the 400 entries and it was pleasing to see some complete artic combinations.
