Volvo Trucks Ready To Electrify Transport

WITH SALES starting this year of three new heavy-duty all-electric models, Volvo Trucks believes the time is right for an upswing in electrification of heavy road transport.
“More and more EU transport companies are realising they need to start their electrification journey now, both with the environment in mind and for competitive reasons and with Volvo Trucks’ wide offering, it is totally feasible for more transport companies to go electric,” said Roger Alm, president of Volvo Trucks.
Adding three more heavy-duty trucks to the electric line-up and with sales of the electric Volvo FH and FM models starting, electrified transport is now possible not only for urban areas, but for regional traffic between cities too. In addition, the new electric Volvo FMX model is creating ways to make construction transport operations quieter and cleaner.
Production for Europe will start next year. They join the Volvo FL Electric and FE Electric for urban transport that have been in production since 2019 and now have a range of up to 300km.
