Changing Mobile Phone Laws

FROM January 2022, laws surrounding the use of hand-held mobile phones while driving are being strengthened to allow for easier prosecutions.
Drivers holding phones to take photos or videos, change music or play videos or games, even in stationary traffic or at traffic lights face a £200 fixed penalty notice and six points on their licence.
Road safety group TTC is urging drivers to take the necessary steps to ensure they remain safe behind the wheel and avoid prosecution by installing a hands-free cradle in their vehicle or better still, learn to put mobile phones away entirely when in the cab.
