MICHELIN Tyre plc has appointed John Howe as MD for the UK & Ireland. He will also hold the role of B2C sales director.
John, 41, has a wealth of experience in the tyre industry at all levels. During seven years at Camso, between 2013 and 2020, he progressed from commercial director to UK managing director, and finally original equipment aftermarket director for the EMEA region.
John will be based in Stoke-on-Trent and replaces Chris Smith as MD, who recently moved to Michelin’s international headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
• Commercial vehicle provider MAN Truck & Bus has started the groundworks for a new brownfield facility in Stockton-on-Tees. Development and building works have now commenced next door to the existing site, which remains fully open and operational, with the newly planned facility opening its doors in August 2022.
Stefan Thyssen, MD of MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time for all involved. Doubling its footprint, the new facility will offer a greater range of customer service solutions and increased workshop throughput, which means quicker and more efficient customer and vehicle service requirements.”
