Russell Group Appoints David Paterson As New CEO

The Russell Group has announced that David Paterson will become the new chief executive officer, replacing Alan Poulton who is set to retire.

Alan Poulton has been on a phased retirement and will officially step down on 29 March after more than 15 years of dedicated service.

David Paterson has been the managing director of Carntyne Transport since 2010 and will oversee all activities within the Russell Group, including John G Russell (Transport), Russell RailRoad and Carntyne Transport.

This, stated the company, will ensure ‘strategic alignment and operational excellence’.

David said: “It is a privilege to step into this role and lead the Russell Group. I look forward to building on our strong partnerships and ensuring we continue to provide exceptional service and sustainable innovative solutions to our valued customers.”

Chairman of the Russell Group John G Russell said: “David’s leadership at Carntyne has been outstanding, and I am confident he will bring the same vision and energy to the Russell Group as a whole. His expertise and commitment to our customers make him the perfect choice to lead us into the future.”
