A lorry driver is fighting for his life after his lorry crashed through the barrier of the M90 flyover at the Craigend Interchange and fell onto the A912 road below, writes Peter Brown.

The lorry driver was transported to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where he remains in critical condition.

The crash led to significant road closures, with the M90 southbound slip road from Broxden towards Edinburgh and the A912 in both directions being shut to facilitate emergency operations and subsequent repairs.

Police Scotland has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Sergeant David Farr appealed for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam footage from the area at the time of the incident to come forward, as this could assist with their inquiries .

This incident has also prompted discussions about road safety measures at the Craigend Interchange, especially considering a similar fatal accident occurred at the same location in November 2021.
