Licence Revoked After Mandatory Financial Standing Failure

THE OPERATOR’S licence held by Bellshill based Precision Haulage Ltd was revoked on 17 September 2019 by the Traffic Commissioner for Scotland, Claire Gilmore. Her decision followed a public inquiry on the same day, which the operator did not attend.

The licence was revoked after the operator failed to satisfy the mandatory financial standing requirement and fulfil an undertaking to provide evidence that it continued to meet that requirement.

The company gave an undertaking to provide financial evidence by June 2018 but did not do so. Following two requests from the Office of the Traffic Commissioner, the operator asked for more time to supply the required information.

This deadline was extended but the documentation subsequently provided by the operator failed to demonstrate sufficient financial standing for the size and type of licence held.
