MPs want hauliers to respond to inquiry into fuel duty

The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Road Freight and Logistics has launched a new inquiry into the impact of fuel duty on road freight and logistics businesses, writes Carol Millett.

The group is calling for industry responses, as rising fuel prices and inflation continue to place huge financial pressures on UK businesses.

The month-long inquiry will examine current fuel duty rates and whether further measures may be required to support the road freight sector, such as the introduction of an essential user rebate, to ensure that the current high fuel prices did not lead to inflationary pressure and impact businesses and consumers.

The group is inviting anyone associated with a UK haulage business and who is experiencing increased financial pressures as a result of rising fuel costs to respond to the inquiry by filling out the Group’s online survey at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/3YP58B2
