Prioritise Maintenance Instead Of New Roads

THE TRANSPORT Committee has published its report on the Department for Transport’s (DfT) strategic road investment portfolios and given the increasing costs of projects, net zero commitments and ageing strategic road assets, the Committee’s report calls on the government to ensure that future Road Investment Strategy portfolios prioritise day-to-day maintenance over complex expansion projects.
