Preston based McGuinness Haulage has taken delivery of six new Volvo FH 500 with I-Save 6x2 tractor units, each with Globetrotter XL cabs, as part of its ambitions to minimise fuel consumption. Supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials, the new trucks join the customer’s 40 strong commercial vehicle fleet, nine of which are Volvos, as replacements for older models. Anthony McGuinness, transport manager at McGuinness Haulage, said: “Reducing our company’s carbon footprint is a key component of our business plan, so we’re delighted to welcome these new Volvo FH with I-Save tractor units that feature a D13TC Euro 6 Step E engine, producing 500hp and 2,800Nm of torque.
