Peak Waste Recycling has added two Volvo 16 tonne FLs and one 18 tonne FE with skip loader bodies to its fleet. The refuse and recycling business, based in Ashbourne, has been buying Volvos for many years. Ken Martin, who runs the company with his brother Richard, said: “We are big fans of the Volvo product. They are reliable and we know they can do the job we require. We have 34 trucks, 28 of which are Volvos. The drivers like them and parts availability is extremely good for our in-house servicing and maintenance team.” Supplied by Hartshorne Motor Services, all three new trucks are powered by Volvo’s D8K engine, with the two FLs delivering a maximum of 250hp and the larger FE producing 280hp.
