New Renault Trucks R&D Centre To Boost Group Synergies

RENAULT Trucks is building a brand new, eco-friendly research and development centre in St Priest, Lyon, France. It will extend over 11,300sq.m and is scheduled to open in the first half of 2021.

The Lyon site is the Volvo Group’s second largest R&D centre.

Part of an ambitious five year building programme launched by Renault Trucks and the Volvo Group to drive innovations, the new R&D centre will bring the company’s expertise under one roof.

In order to create synergies, boost innovation, and ensure the success of the next Renault Trucks and Volvo Group product ranges, the new R&D centre will house more than 1,000 experienced staff.

Following a completely new organisational approach, engineers and researchers will work alongside purchasing teams in the three storey building.

Construction on the new R&D centre, which will be built to high environmental standards, will commence in the summer.
