A SHORTAGE of new build tipper trailers is pushing up the demand and price of second hand units.
Graham Macmillan, managing director of STAS Trailers based at Altham, Lancashire, has several second hand trailers in his yard with some returned through part exchange deals for new STAS tipper trailers and others he has bought independently.
“If I see a second hand STAS trailer I’ll buy it straightaway,” he said. “I pay good money for it, but I know I’ll get good money back for it as STAS retain good residual values.”
