MENZIES Distribution’s drive for sustainability has taken a diversion into the world of bespoke, tote bags, rucksacks and toiletry bags.
The group is working with partners, including Aura Brand Solutions to convert disused PVC side curtains from its largest vehicles into colourful, durable bags.
The waste is processed in the UK before being shipped for manufacture. No Menzies branding remains visible on any bags and the first trial alone will divert 17 tonnes of waste from landfill, potentially saving over 30 tonnes of CO2. Material such as car seat belts and bicycle inner tubes have also been used in the construction of the bags.
