Gregory Group Going Green

Carbon reduction has become the modern challenge for hauliers, and Hayton Coulthard Transport’s Malcolm Wilde explains how the Gregory Group has set about making it work practically and financially. Kevin Swallow reports. THE CLIMATE Change Act dates back to 2008. It commits the UK government by law to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 100% of 1990 levels (net zero) by 2050.
In 2021, the UK Government upped the ante and planned to cut emissions (including international aviation and shipping emissions) by 78% by 2035.
So, where does all that leave road haulage? While Euro 7 looms menacingly on the horizon as well as the shift to battery electric and hydrogen, there are other routes to reducing CO2, as Malcolm Wilde explained.
