Rated Triple A

International haulier AAA Couriers has evolved from vans to a fleet dominated by trucks specialising in hazardous goods. Lucy Radley spoke with Jason Davey about growth, the fleet and the future.

UNLIKE most companies we talk to at Transport News, AAA Couriers definitely does not just do what it says on the tin.
Based on the edge of Bradford, West Yorkshire, while it does have six vans and does do some last minute one-hit type work in them, it also has 14 wagons which run on a variety of schedules, including regular work to Belgium and Holland. It also specialises in what most operators try and avoid, hazardous chemicals and gases.
Owner Jason Davey has been in this game for 27 years now, having previously driven internationally for other people. “I started with one old van, but I knew there wasn’t any money to be made in dry freight anymore,” he told us.
