DVSA to offer ‘help’ for new operators to reach Earned Recognition

The DVSA has launched a two-year programme for new HGV operators to help them work towards becoming earned recognition (ER) members, writes Chris Tindall.

The enforcement agency said its ‘road to DVSA earned recognition’ programme will provide support and guidance to operators that have been issued with a licence in the last six months.

It said being on the programme would help hauliers build best practice and good compliance in their business so that they can then go on to apply for ER status with confidence.

The DVSA said that by having closer ties to the agency, operators that join the programme are more likely to meet its standards and can work towards membership of the ER scheme.
