Making It Fit For Purpose

NO TWO days are alike for those who work in vehicle recovery. ‘You can try to plan but it can change so quickly,’ Michael Anderson explained. ‘Work comes in as it needs to be done, it’s a reactive business.’
He is a director of the family run Ross’s Garage, based at Clava, a few miles east of Inverness. Ross’s Garage employs 36 people across three sites and specialises in vehicle repair, maintenance and servicing, and the recovery of anything from a motorbike to a 7.5 tonne truck as well as clearing roads following major road traffic collisions (RTCs).
To assist, the company has just taken delivery of ‘Tonka’, an 8×2 Volvo FH with a unique body built by the Roger Dyson Group. It replaces a 2005 registered MAN TGA 6×2 26 tonne rigid truck that was a tractor unit stretched by Britcom in 2007.
